Tablecloth Before & After Tutorial

I don't have a sewing machine, and it takes a lot for me to need one bad enough to borrow one.  But I did just that when I saw this tutorial on Smashed Peas and Carrots blog showing how to secure a tablecloth.

Yes, it is July and here is my kids indoor picnic table with a Christmas tablecloth (taped underneath with black duct tape).  No hurry, huh?

Before:

Here is the after with sewn corners to keep it in place.  Soooo much better than the duct tape which keeps falling off after awhile.

Not too bad for my first attempt...

I liked it so much I did both of my kids' craft desks, too!

And finally, as long as I had the sewing machine out, I did the kitchen table, too...

Thanks for the great idea, Maggie!

Garage Sale Makeover

Check out any garage sale, and I betcha you'll find several framed prints or just empty frames.  I love finding these and re-purposing them with a fresh look!

Take this sad framed picture I found at a garage sale for $1.

After cleaning the sticker off the glass, I just popped everything out and covered the existing cardboard backing with a black and white polka dot wrapping paper. Then I put a new print on top and put it back in the frame.  Here's the after...

Don't you love the print?  It's from Diana Duda and I just love it!  Check out her shop for more great art.  Looks awesome hanging in my little girls' polka dot bathroom...

Happy art makes my heart happy!  And when I can recycle something old and make it new again, it even better!

She Should Wear a Crown

I heard this verse in church the other day and immediately thought of a tiara or crown. It is from I Corinthians 11:10 and reads, "The woman should have a symbol of authority on her head because of the angels."

So I've created more typography wall art, this time in pink!

Perfectly distressed for an aged & shabby look...

Hand painted on a size 16x20 canvas.

Currently available in my Etsy shop.
