Cupcakes and Houses

Some handpainted Halloween hangtags and an altered cigar box have kept me busy this week! These mixed media tags are oversized hangtags that I painted with acrylics and also used papers, stamps, ribbon and inks. Fun!

A spooky little row of houses on Salem Street...
I altered this cigar box using acrylics, papers, and inks. Love how it turned out!

You might recall I previously released a Halloween version ...

And the first one in the series was this springtime version...

Who Gives a Hoot?

New this week is a trio of sweet little owls on extra large hangtags. These are mixed media pieces of my original artwork. Each little guy is nesting in his own home...a witches cauldron, a pumpkin, and a witches hat.

Now for their closeups!

Halloween Projects

Have I mentioned that I live in Texas? It's in the 100's right now. So to remind me of cooler weather and bearable temps, I've been painting even more Halloween stuff.

First up is this cute trio of wood plaques that I painted with inspiration from Monika Brint. I've included ribbon for easy hanging. These will be listed on my Ebay this Sunday. UPDATE: These plaques are SOLD.

Next is a thick 12x12 canvas that I recycled with some mixed media artwork. I used acrylics, charcoal, paper, and ink for the art. The "Boo" letters are typewriter key stickers. This little guy will be listed on my Ebay on Sunday as well.

Finally - and probably my favorite new piece this week - is a large cabinet door that I altered and painted with my original design. For this piece, I used acrylics, charcoal, paper, stamps and ink with lots of washed layers as the background. I love the harlequin pattern ... and of course polka dots! This will also be listed on my Ebay this Sunday.

Handpainted Halloween Goodies!

I think I'm on a roll these days with some Halloween art, so I'll continue to share my finished projects...

I recycled another 8x8 wood surface and painted some of my original artwork featuring a prim pumpkin couple.

The background is layered and consists of scrapbook paper, several washed layers of paint and a few stamps. The pumpkin couple was created with acrylics, pen, and charcoal. Their hats are paper that I inked and shaded.

An 8x10 print of this is available in my Etsy shop. Would they look cute framed and displayed during October?!

Another project I have recently finished is an altered cigar box. Again, I used papers and layers of washed paint as the background. This was inspired from a Monika Brint pattern I found in an old painting magazine. This box is currently for sale on my Ebay.

My next project is a Halloween painting on a large cupboard door! It needs a final coat of sealer and a few pictures so stay tuned for a new post soon!

Have a great day!
